Shhhhh

We've been a little quiet lately, but that doesn't mean we haven't been busy. As you can see from the above image, we've been filling out paperwork. Lots of it. But in all honesty, we've also been busy working on Help Portrait NWA. Help Portrait is an idea coming from a photographer in Nashville and it sort of caught on. On December 12, photographers from all over the world will donate their time, equipment and energy to give the gift of photography to those who otherwise could not afford it. If you happen to live in or near Northwest Arkansas and would like to get involved, visit our website and sign up.

A little rearranging

We hijacked this roadside sign for a little photo shoot. The owners were not impressed but we sweet talked our way out of any trouble. We also had a long meeting about afte details and enjoyed a beautiful Saturday afternoon.

501 c 3 or bust

Art from the Everyday or "afte" is well on it's way to becoming a non profit. We've got legal representation, a board of directors and lots of paperwork to read and fill out. Exciting stuff, for sure. But why the sudden change? The long answer is complicated. Simply put though, we felt compelled to do something different with photography. A longer, more in-depth, and emotionally stirring explanation will follow at some point. Right now, we just have ideas about how this will all go. We're currently in the process of being recognized by the IRS. We're organizing collections of photographs. And, we're brainstorming about all the places we could go, the photographs we could make and the people and organizations we could help. I wanted to go ahead and get this blog going so that I could keep you updated on what's happening with afte. We'll post updates and photos here on the blog. We'll also post on twitter and youtube. More to come, thanks for your support.
